Bioneers Conference-Day 3-Lee
Today on the 20th of October, the girls from the Lower Eastside Girls Club conquered the third day of the Bioneers conference. This day was full of new speakers with lots to talk about. Half way into the conference, we were happily surprised to see many men and women speaking in traditional tonuge about their ways of life and the respect they need from us. I remain totally fasinated and invovled in the words the Bioneers speak of, and I am yet to see something in the conference that didn’t interest me.

Bioneers Conference-Day 2-Lee
Today on the 19th of October; the second day of Bioneers, we began the actual Bioneers conference, it started with Judy Wicks, a really inspirational women that bases her life on “being more not having more”. she uses family owned businesses to feed her customers at her café called ‘The White Dog café’. she believes that “businesses have been corrupted by love of greed not love of growth” which made me feel connected to her on a personal level, because many of the statements were a good representation on my views on life, the world and the future. After her was another inspirational person named Van Jones, he was a motivated minority black man that keep the audience entertained and laughing. After the conference we enjoyed a delicious meal, which we could choose vegan or non-vegetarian. After we were full and energized we headed to the conference room in which we meet first hand with Van Jones, Kenny Ausubel, Eve Ensler. We learned much from this day it made all 13 girls excited for the rest of the conference to come in the following days.

Bioneers Conference-Day 1-Lee
Today, on the 18th of October, The Lower Eastside Girls Club went to youth day at Bioneers. This day was full of exploring the grounds and meeting some of the youth involved in Bioneers. The second we arrived we were busy planning and interacting with the crew. The first day included opening up, participating, and doing small “council” exercises, which was a circle of people opening up and showing their real heart felt thoughts on life, Bioneers, and whatever came to mind. This first day made me feel welcomed and ready to start the environmental journey we are about to experience.
