Courtine-Food Inc
Today we went to the movies to see “Food, Inc.”. which was an interesting movie. It’s about the food we eat and where it comes from. The movie gives interesting facts that people should know about the food we are consuming. If you saw Food, Inc, it would really open your eyes and make things clearer. Do you know what they do to chickens? They put hormones in the chickens so that the eggs can hatch in 49 days instead of 3 months. That means the chickens grow TWICE its normal size when it hatches. They put hormones in cows, fish and pigs also, to make them grow more. I guess they figure more meat more money? NO that’s not even healthy for humans. People are getting sick from eating this meat. Is money that important? I don’t think it is. We have to make a change. We should take a stand against this because it’s not fair to us or the animals. I learned a lot from Food, Inc. it made me realize that the large industries are trying to keep us occupied with electronics so we won’t see what’s really going on in the world. I’m not saying that you should stop eating meat but you should know where it comes from and that’s what Food, Inc does. Something has to be done so that there’s less people getting sick and more healthy people.

Courtine-Ave D
We went to Avenue D to see the different food stores they had down there. I wasn’t surprised by the way the streets looked when we got there because I’m used to it and I’ve been to places that looked worst than that. We walked from 2nd street to 10th street. We saw sixteen food stores in total. There were four fast food restaurants, five delis, one restaurant, and five supermarkets. It’s not many food stores between 2nd and 10th street. The neighborhood is alright but it needs some improvements. They should clean the streets and fix up the gates and the stores. Also, they should put healthier food stores over there.
