LOWER EAST SIDE TENEMENT MUSEUM
ART GEO CREW ON THE MOVE!
The Art Geo Crew travelled over to the Lower East Side Tenement Museum on Orchard Street between Delancey and Broome Streets. The LES Tenement Museum is an interactive experience in an actual tenement building. Guests are split into groups or "Families" from Europe for their guided tour and then they are ushered to meet the actors who play immigrants of the 1860's in an actual tenement apartment. Sarah, the Director of Education for the museum says the interactive tours give the guests a better understanding of life in the 1860's by meet the actors and having them tell the stories of actual immigrants rather than just reading it on a wall with a pictures. They actual get to feel it and be a part of it.
