WHAT DOES CONEY ISLAND MEAN TO YOU?
Astroland Park, family owned and operated by the Alberts since 1962, closed it's doors on September 7th, 2008. Luna interviews D.J. Vourderis about the effects of the closing on Deno's Wonder Wheel Park. D.J. has a passionate interest in the "greening" of the Wonder Wheel and shares his progress and ongoing plans. The Girls Club has a special interest in the Green Movement also. The program, Girls Gone Green engages our youth on the issues of environmental injustice. We are training the next leaders of Environmental Advocacy. Congratulations to D.J. Vourderis for leading the Green way in Coney Island.
