INTERVIEW WITH THE VOURDERIS BROTHERS

WHAT DOES CONEY ISLAND MEAN TO YOU?

Meet the 3 Vourderis Brothers, D.J., Teddy & John. Deno's Wonder Wheel Amusement Park has always been a family affair. The boys' grandfather, Constantinos Dionysios Vourderis (Denos), the 8th of 22 children, was born in Aigion, Greece in 1920. He came to Coney Island to pursue the American Dream and he succeeded. Denos bought the wheel in 1983 and with his sons and daughters working beside him, built Deno's Wonder Wheel Amusement and Kiddie Park ? landmarking the Wonder Wheel in 1989. Teddy, D.J. & John are the second generation to work in Deno's Wonder Wheel Amusement Park along with their cousins. Their father, Steve and their uncle Dennis, run the park. Is there something special about growing up in Deno's Wonder Wheel Amusement Park? YOU BET THERE IS!
